The WordPress exit plan that must happen soon
According to an email from Wordpress, they're allowing ai connections via MCP - Model Context Protocol. Their reasoning: ...you didn't start a website to do the dull busywork of managing categories and tags. Now you can get to the work that really matters....
Wordpress says all that backend organisation is beneath me - it's just boring busywork. It couldn't possibly allow me to use my brain and be part of the process, could it? What's the work that really matters, anyway? Generating blog photos via ai? Using ChatGPT to write a blog post so I can pretend I'm doing something useful and creative?
Such convenience can also create laziness. It can be a tool for grifters, shills, opportunists, and bland profiteers. It can replace useful and meaningful activity with zero effort.
It may be time to form my Wordpress exit strategy.
